Inside a home most people find termites in flooring, skirting boards and doorframes. If your flooring feels soft under foot or your vacuum cleaning goes through the skirting board, the first thing to do is call us now on 9835115000 and arrange one of our accredited professional termite inspectors to carry out an inspection.

    Damaged timber

A hollowed-out piece of timber that has been damaged by termites usually sounds hollowed.

    Alates

Usually in rainy season established nests disperse young reproductive, winged termites out to start new colonies. On a warm and humid evening hundreds of them will leave the nest at once, so their numbers look like swarms of flying ants. If you spot alates around your home, this could be a sign of termite infestation.

    Termite leads

Termites are fragile insects. They don't have many defences against predators, and require a moist and humid environment to survive. To get around safely when they are not underground or inside a piece of timber, they build leads, small tunnels made of mud and cellulose. The tubes look like little brown straws.

Termite Prevention Tips

  • Eliminate or reduce moisture in and around the home, which termites need to thrive.
  • Repair leaking faucets, water pipes and exterior AC units. Repair fascia, soffits and rotted roof shingles.
  • Replace weather stripping and loose mortar around basement foundation and windows.
  • Divert water away from the house through properly functioning downspouts, gutters and splash blocks.
  • Routinely inspect the foundation of a home for signs of mud tubes (used by termites to reach a food source), uneven or bubbling paint and wood that sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Monitor all exterior areas of wood, including windows, doorframes and skirting boards for any noticeable changes.
  • Maintain an 18-inch gap between soil and any wood portions of your home.
  • Consider scheduling a professional inspection annually. Wood-boring insect damage is not covered by homeowners' insurance policies.
  • Store firewood at least 20 feet away from the house.
  • Chemical Treatments

There are major two type of chemical available for removal of termite in pre & post construction termite segment.

    Repellent Chemicals

Repellents chemicals are traditional & if termite come in the contact of chemical its get killed immediately or after that repelled termites & there is no domino effect of chemicals , most of repellent chemical having very bad odor & are not user friendly . Termite can easily detect the treated area & termite starts searching place in the building where the barrier is incomplete.

    Non-Repellents Chemicals

Non repellents chemicals are the latest available chemicals for controlling termites in pre & post construction. Normally termite cannot detect the barrier made by non-repellents chemical & they come in to the contact of chemicals & the impact of poising come in termite slowly, during that period they spread the chemical to other termite & domino action start. In the case of non-repellent chemicals we can achieve maximum control on termite & also can eliminate the colony of termite.
